The Beginning of Coyne Electric:

Coyne Electric was founded by Gerald L. Coyne in 1979.   I always wanted to be an electrician, starting in the trade in 1972 after graduating from Central High School in Scranton, Pennsylvania.   I was granted an opportunity with Local #81 IBEW starting as a first year apprentice to start learning the electrical trade.

My four year apprenticeship was served at Haddon Craftsmen Book Manufacturing Company and I worked on the installation of new machinery and trouble shooting of machinery.   In 1977 I moved on from Haddon Craftsmen after completing four years of on the job training and graduated from the IBEW four year state of Pennsylvania Certified Apprenticeship Program.   The next two years were spent learning the electrical construction phases of our industry.

Then in 1979 I decided to open my own business Jerry Coyne Electrical Contracting Co.   For the first couple of months I worked out of my 1976 Buick Riviera.   "It seems like it was only yesterday when   I had the sun roof open with a six-foot step ladder sticking up through the opening of the roof."   I removed the spare tire from the trunk to make room for my tools and I was in business.

My vision was to provide prompt service and return phone calls ASAP.   PROMPT SERVICE  was the basic ingredient of our success.   Twenty-eight years later we have fifteen to twenty full time employee's, seven service vans, one thirty-six foot bucket truck and two delivery cube vans.

My employee's and I worked very hard over the year's to be the best in the business!   And according to our client testimonial's we have accomplished that achievement.   We are not only an electrical service company we also provide design build and do new electrical construction.   I ask you to let us provide you with our services and I know you will not be disappointed.

In conclusion I would like to thank my mother and father for their support as well as the support from the remainder of my family, friends and my employee's for our continued success.
